CSEET Deriving Conclusions from Passages MCQs

Deriving a conclusion means drawing a logical inference based only on the facts and information given in a short passage — without assuming anything outside it.
You are expected to read a small paragraph or statement and then decide which conclusion(s) logically follow.
Tips to Solve:
Read the passage carefully — understand what is explicitly stated.
Do not assume extra facts — stick to what’s given.
Differentiate between fact and opinion.
If the conclusion definitely follows, mark it true; if not supported or contradicts, mark it false.
Look for keywords — “all,” “some,” “only,” “no,” etc. — they affect the conclusion’s meaning.
Types of Questions:
v Direct inference – straightforward fact-based.
v Implied meaning – conclusion must be logically deduced.
v Cause and effect – understanding relationships.
v Opinion vs fact – distinguishing reasoning from belief.
