a) 9

b) 13

c) 15

d) 18

Parentheses (P): Evaluate the operation inside the parentheses first.

6+2=8

The expression becomes:

48÷8×3−5

Multiplication and Division (MD): Perform multiplication and division from left to right.

First, the division:

48÷8=6

The expression becomes:

6×3−5

Next, the multiplication:

6×3=18

The expression becomes:

18−5

Addition and Subtraction (AS): Perform addition and subtraction from left to right.

18−5=13

The result of the expression 48÷(6+2)×3−5 is 13.

2. What is the result of the expression 20 ÷ (3 + 2) × (5 - 1)?

a) 6

b) 12

c)

16

d) 24

Parentheses (P): Evaluate the operations inside the parentheses first.

First set of parentheses:

3+2=5

Second set of parentheses:

5−1=4

The expression becomes:

20÷5×4

Multiplication and Division (MD): Perform multiplication and division from left to right.

First, the division:

20÷5=4

The expression becomes:

4×4

Next, the multiplication:

4×4=16

The result of the expression 20÷(3+2)×(5−1) is 16.

3. If 25% of 40% of a number is 5, what is the number?

a) 20

b) 50

c) 125

d) 200

25%×40%×N=5

convert to decimals

0.25×0.40×N=5

0.10 x N = 5

N = 5/.10

 so the answer is 50

4. A toy store had a stock of toys. They sold 50% of the toys and have 300 toys left. How many toys did they originally have?

a) 150

b) 300

c) 450

d) 600

.50 X N  = 300

N = 300/N

it is 600

5. Which number is 30% less than 120?

a) 72

b) 84

c) 90

d) 105

30% is 36 subtract form 120 , it is 84

6. In a zoo, the number of lions to tigers is in the ratio 4:7. If there are a total of 99 lions and tigers combined, how many tigers are there?

a) 63 tigers

b) 44 tigers

c) 55 tigers

d) 72 tigers

if there are 4 lions , then 7 tigers are there

so let us assume 11 animals are there

that is 11 portions,  so one portion is  99/11 = 9

so the  equation will be 4 x9 lions  = 36 lions

tigers will be 7X9  = 63 tigers

7. What is the average of the numbers 3, -7, 8, 12, and -2?

a) 2.5

b) 2.8

c) 3.2

d) 4.0 7

3+(−7)+8+12+(−2)=3−7+8+12−2

=(3+8+12)+(−7−2)

=23+(−9)

Sum=14

so 14/5 is the answer = it is 2.8

8. Ravi borrowed Rs 5000 from a bank for 2 years at an interest rate of 5% per annum. How much interest will he have to pay after 2 years?

a) Rs 250

b) Rs 500

c) Rs 750

d) Rs 1000

This is calculated using the formula for Simple Interest (SI), as the problem doesn't specify compound interest:

s1 =PXRXT/100

P (Principal) = Rs 5000

R (Rate of Interest) = 5% per annum

T (Time) = 2 years

= 5000 X 5 X2/ 100

= 50000/100 = 500

9. If the simple interest on a sum of Rs 8000 for 4 years is Rs 3200, what is the rate of interest?

a) 8%

b) 9%

c) 10%

d) 12%

 SI = P X R X T /100

R = SI X 100/P X T

3200 X 100/ 8000 X 4

320000/32000

10%

10. A laptop was purchased for Rs. 25,000. After spending Rs. 5,000 on repairs, it was sold for Rs. 36,000, resulting in a profit of 20%. What was the cost of the laptop?
